Kaizen
Kaizen in Japanese means Improvement. Within the business context, it means on-going improvement involving everyone and has been called the single most important concept in Japanese management.
In the West, when a specification has been met no further efforts at improvement may be made. In contrast, Kaizen requires on-going efforts at improvement, no matter how good the product may be already.
Within the quality movement, Kaizen has resulted in the Japanese developing and refining an outstanding collection of management tools which they continue to develop and further refine.
The application and use of these tools is an important element in our Consultancy approach at Walker Associates.
