Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Statistical Process Control is concerned with inferential statistics, where a limited amount of data is used to predict future or past events.
Because SPC may be used to predict future outcomes, it is of critical importance to management decision making and has many applications outside of manufacturing where its use is best known. A growth in the use of SPC in business, service and administration situations may be expected as a result of competitive pressures.
The most common tool used within SPC is the Control Chart.
